I love pro v1 but I cannot afford to keep filling up the lakes at my local course with them. I won some srixon ad333 which were great off the tee and seemed really nice to putt with but do not spin enough for my liking. Can anyone recommend a ball that does it all but not cost the earth?

Used ProV1's, or you could get the ones that get company logos put on them. usually they sell those for less when they make too many of them. i hope you know what i am talking about.

Try the Callaway's HX tour or tour 56, they are awesome of the tee, although they do feel a little hard on the putter stroke. Spin ratio is good on bent and 328 greens. Price about 15 - 20 dollars (aus) a dozen.
But if you do like the V1's ebay is your friend there, they might be one hit wonders but you can get some great deals |

Stay in the Titleist family but choose either the NXT Tour or NXT Extreme for spin or distance respectively. They are the #2 ball in the Titleist line and worth the $25 or so for each dozen. They even have a cut-proof guarantee as Titleist will send a sleeve of NXT's if you cut the cover during normal play. Also, NXT has the funniest commercials ever. Really, it's a great ball with medium compression. Distance is great. Price is fantastic. I believe it's a great alternative. Why not pick up a sleeve and knock 'em around. For decent prices on mint, "experienced" balls, go to Knetgolf.com . Good luck.

If you like Titleist, you can get "new" old Professionals for a great deal. Its still a great ball, better than nxt just not as long as PV1. If your local has tons of water, length probably that necessary.

Good Luck!
I think that over the last 2 seasons I've tried every alternative that I could think of. The Nike platinum and the Callaway 56 were the only two balls that came close to the performance of the Pro V1. These balls are only $5-$10 cheaper per dozen. I've started buying "used " balls at the local golf show every winter. I can usually get Pro V1's for around $25 per dozen. 10 of them are usually useable. |

The Callaway HX Tour 56 is a good alternative, but the price is only a little lower. Anyway, if you keep hitting them in the water then you probably shouldn't be playing Pro V1s.
