Golfers rarely ever tell their true handicap. They either undervalue it to get more strokes in a match or overvalue it to look better than they are. Many, many people don't record all their scores, and still more don't count all their strokes (IE, if your being honest there are no gimme puts, finish the hole tee to cup). Also, there are vast quantities of players who honestly don't know the correct rules for penalty strokes, lost balls, etc. So, handicaps are largely inaccurate. and oh yeah i break 100 regularly not always, and i finish every putt, and always, ALWAYS, play it as it lies. Unless local rules deign it L,C and P.

I was a 10 about six months ago. But I injured my right shoulder and have been unable to play until recently. Played a little bit over my old average score so I probably went up a couple of points.

I've never had my handicap taken. My guess is I'd be at or around 13. I break 90 almost everytime out last season. I live in Chicago so I can only play in the spring/summer/fall. The important thing is I've not stopped improving my game.
I've been playing for 10 seasons now. My goal for next year is to consistently break 80. I've got pretty good distance tee to green (300+ consistently off the tee, 200 with my 5-iron, 170 with my 8 iron). If I can keep improving my short game I think I'll be able to attempt Q school before my 35th birthday. I can dream still can't I? |

Handicap, its amazing how many people try and fudge their handicaps to make it 'look' like they are a great player, but when it comes too playing their ability vs the handicap is truely seen, yes people have their off days and their good days... So why even try to falsify your handicap by saying "Oh I used to play off 3 when I was young, but know I play of 20 cause I only play once a week"... What a load of bullsh!t, if you used to play off 3 then you know how too swing a club, its like riding a bike you never forget, yes I would believe playing off 10 after a few years off, but off 20 pfft "tell him he's dreamin!".... I just got cut on weekend yay, first time in like 2 months... Down to 4.2
